Welcome to my channel, dear visitor. My name is Kayla. I'm a 3rd year PhD candidate in an interdisciplinary humanities program, focusing on public history and digital humanities. I seek to share my educational and professional journey as a first-generation student and scholar, pursuing research in the humanities. My current research explores the relationship between individuals (scholars, curators, archivists, and more) and the archive, specifically through a feminist lens. As a scholar engaged with the archive, my interest is in the relationship with the past to the present and future, and vice versa. I like to quote Vernon Lee in that I am "companioned by the past."
On this channel, you will find my academic musings including vlogs and sit-down videos chronicling my dissertation research and writing process. In addition, I talk about books (both for research & leisure reading), games, and other story-orientated hobbies and topics- I'm a consumer of stories and love to share that.
