Elena Kanagy-Loux

Hello there!
I’m Elena Kanagy-Loux, a textile artist and historian who has dedicated over a decade of my life to the study of handmade lace. I am the founder of Brooklyn Lace Guild, and am currently pursuing a PhD focused on the global expansion of lacemaking at Bard Graduate Center in NYC.

When I was starting out, it was difficult for me to find instructors and reliable resources in lace, so my goal is to make information about lace history and lace making more accessible to the general public. To me, lace is one of the most exquisite art forms in existence and is long overdue for recognition within the art historical canon and beyond.

I do my best to answer any and all questions that I can, so feel free to email me with lace-related queries. Thank you for watching, and enjoy!
