50 Wise Speakers

How do great public speakers get that way? What advice do they have for the rest of us? What can they teach us about overcoming our fears and improving as speakers?

Answers to the above questions and more have been collected through a series of 50 personal interviews with prominent public speakers in Washington State.

Dr. Phil Venditti conducted the interviews as a sabbatical research project supported by the college throughout 2013. He has served as a communication studies faculty member at CPTC since 2003 and reports to the Dean for Business, Hospitality, Design, and Personal Services.

Each prominent public speaker's remarks were videotaped. Students in CPTC's Media Design and Production Program under the direction of faculty member Austin Iverson edited the recordings into a form accessible to public speaking teachers and students.
