Madavalam Sri Kamakshi Ambal Temple is situated about 18 km near Kanchipuram, in a distant village called Ukkal. Here the Ambal idol was built as a small temple of only 40 Square Feet for about 20 years, and today it is built on about 3 acres of land with 61 feet East Rajagopuram, 64 feet North Rajagopuram with Ambal Moolasthan, Inner Praghara Mahamandapam, Outer Praghara Mahamandapam, Guru Sannadi and very huge compound walls nothing less than any ancient temples in South India. Most of the temple construction including the tower (Gopuram) is built of stone.

Here Kamakshi Ambal is the main deity, Lord Shiva(chandramouliswarar) is in Tavakolam and Jagatguru Adi Shankar is the Guru.
