President Rodrigo Roa Duterte addresses the Plenary Session of the 16th Annual Meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club at the Polyana 1389 Hotel in Sochi, Russian Federation on October 3, 2019.

The Chief Executive is among the world leaders invited by the Valdai Discussion Club together with the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, and the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation is the first to deliver his message as the leader of the host nation.

President Duterte’s speech in the Plenary Session focuses on the theme given by the Valdai Discussion Club, ‘The World Order Seen from the East’.

For its 16th Annual Meeting, the forum chose the topic, ‘The Dawn of the East and the World Political Order’. This is the first time that a Philippine President has been invited to the said forum.
