After many attempts and a lot of practicing, I finally complete an entire playthrough of Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition on One Life difficulty, nailing the Unhinged achievement.

I finally succeeded on my 18th attempt. Originally I had planned to record this with commentary, until after attempt #17 I realized it would be better for my health to cut the dialogue and actually beat the game. (Things went much better and faster after that point.)

Thanks to these two resources below for tips and skips for the run, some of which I used and others I deliberately ignored because I can be a moron sometimes.

(I unfortunately only watched bits and pieces of this speedrun before my playthrough, but it still gave me some ideas for small skips.)

-- Notes & Clarifications --

I was not going for 100% completion on this run, but I did go out of my way multiple times to grab additional life/energy cells, ability points, etc. Most notably, I decided to do the Black Root Burrows segment to get Dash, Light Burst, and a lot of extra ability points, making this an all skills run on top of deathless. While the detours were potentially unwise for a deathless run (5 of my 17 deaths came from optional sections), it was more fun that way 🙃.

I intentionally die immediately to drop a Wisp there at the beginning of the game for a small head start on the ability tree. For my failed attempts, I deleted my save file before retrying in order to avoid coming across my Wisp from an actual death which would probably be in some dangerous place like a laser or a spike pit (per Groen90's advice).

Also mentioned by Groen90, Alt+U hides the HUD, which removes dialog boxes during story segments and picking up key items/skills. This helps things move a bit faster. I leave the HUD off for most of the run, save for quick life/energy checkups and dangerous spots where I want to monitor my life easily.
