In today’s Talk-Doc by the Unsung India Foundation, we explore the remarkable journey of Rajaram Singh Kushwaha, an engineer-turned-politician dedicated to serving the people with unwavering honesty. Born on March 27, 1958, in Ekauni Village, Aurangabad district, Bihar, Singh’s life exemplifies commitment and resilience.
Despite earning a civil engineering degree from Bihar College of Engineering (now NIT Patna), Singh chose activism over a professional career. His passion for social justice led him to the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation. He represented the Obra constituency in the Bihar Legislative Assembly twice (1995, 2000) and, in 2024, won the Karakat Lok Sabha seat, defeating Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh by over one lakh votes.
As state chief of the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee for Bihar and Jharkhand, Singh has championed farmers’ rights, spearheading protests against farm laws and demanding fair market reforms. His campaigns, funded by public donations, reflect his grassroots ethos.
With a well-defined five-year development agenda, Singh remains committed to regional upliftment. Even at this age, his spirit and dedication shine through, making him a true unsung hero whose life and work continue to inspire generations.
