Let There Be Hope

When we think of someone who has a stroke, we tend to imagine someone of advanced age, or who is in very poor health. However, we do not have the tendency to believe that a young person in fairly good health can suffer from a stroke – but it does happen. The question is, what happens when someone who is still young and still working has a stroke? How does it disrupt someone’s life when they are a hard worker, who cares for the wellbeing of other people, who supports those who need support the most? This is how ReGen’s treatment approach for her.

She worked at a refugee camp in Klang – where she selflessly devoted her time to teach refugee children, and help refugees produce things to sell such as soap and fresh produce. But, one evening, at the young age of 45, she suffered a bad stroke, which left her left upper and lower limbs paralysed. After the stroke, she could no longer help others, because she herself was in need of assistance and treatment.

She had been received rehabilitation treatment at ReGen Rehab Hospital and now she has been making significant progress in her recovery here.
