Amateur Wood Finishing 101: Introduction to Water-Based Polycrylic Finish (Part 3)

Описание к видео Amateur Wood Finishing 101: Introduction to Water-Based Polycrylic Finish (Part 3)

Join me as I embark on a new journey of woodworking! For my first project, I am finishing an IKEA Tarva 6-Drawer Chest (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/pro...) for my daughter's bedroom. In Part 3, I apply Minwax Water-Based Polycrylic finish to the drawer faces of the dresser. I learn MANY lessons during this video. I also leave all my mistakes in.

Most importantly, I learned the following:
-Take your time, go slow, and follow the steps of the process (sanding, removing dust, staining, wash, rinse repeat).
-Let the tools do the work
-I prefer foam brushes to bristle brushes for applying finish
-Work quickly to keep the edges clean on all sides
-A minimum of 4 coats are required to get desirable outcomes
-Be prepared with more materials to remove excess stains more

In this video, I used the following tools and materials:

Rockler Bench Cookie Plus Master Kit: http://www.rockler.com/bench-cookie-p...

Minwax Water-Based Wood Products: http://www.homedepot.com/s/minwax%252...

Foam Brushes: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Linzer-1-i...

(All materials and tools were purchased by me - I have received nothing from any of the companies listed above)
