Smt. Veena Joshi is a music teacher by profession. She has her own music school at Gandhinagar Sirsi since last 10 years. She learnt Hindusthani classical music from Pt. Prabhakar Bhat and pt. M.P.Hegde an now learning Music from pt. Vinayak Hegde. She has given her performances at Aakaashvani, DD and other private channels and given musical concert at Havyaka sabha Bangallore and in Dasara Utsavs also.
She has collected many folk music of Uttara kannada dist. and purblished a book. Recently she has published a book on hindusthani classical music called “Subodhini” which is very useful for music students. She has been awarded by Krist Foundation Bangalore for her excellence in Music. Many CDs also been released of her songs. Her collection of old traditional songs is appropriated by many.
Here she is singing a famous Bhavageete of Kannada “Deepavu ninnade” Written by Shri K.S. Narasimhaswamy.
