WE REALLY MISS LYLE!: Charlton Athletic 1-1 Southend United

After going two games without scoring, Charlton were desperate to get back to decent form against Southend United, who had lost two on the bounce. We also welcomed a familiar face in Chris Powell back to The Valley, but it was Lee Bowyer who was the crows favourite and was looking to take his league one rival down.

A decent first opening minutes from the Addicks looked as if we would control this game, but Stephen Humphrys’ long range effort was defected and flew in the net to put them ahead. A poor end to the first half put Southend in control, but an unbelievable second half led to a fantastic header from Reeves to put us back on level terms. We just couldn’t find the back of the net again, despite a very controversial decision at the end of the game. The draw keeps us in fifth, thanks to results going our way.
