HISTORY
“Fete -Dieu du Tech… takes place on August 15. The date is important for Roman Catholics as the feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary patroness of the Acadian people and Acadiana. Also a day that marks the anniversary the arrival of the French Canadian immigrants who brought the Catholic Faith and to the Acadiana after and during great trials and suffering.”

On August 14 and 15th 2024 it was decided to have the Eucharistic procession on the mighty Mississippi river formally named the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary beginning in Baton Rouge and ending in New Orleans with a vigil and perpetual adoration in Convent, LA at Saint Michael’s Church. This video is the beginning of the Eucharistic procession after a Mass at Saint Joseph’s Cathedral in the Diocese of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
