🔸Then at the time of paying the bill, you’ve noticed that your bill includes one extra food item of ₹3000 which was subsequently manually striked off with a pen.

You after seeing that got satisfied that it was a mistake and has been corrected by the restaurant and the additional money got deducted from the total amount but here is the catch.

🔸You see, after adding ₹3000, GST @5% i.e ₹450 got charged on sub total of ₹9000 and not on ₹6000. So if additional item was not been added before then GST will be charged on ₹6000 i.e ₹300. So the extra ₹150 will be directly goes to the pocket of restaurant and not the government.

➡️Bottom line: Always check the bill carefully and if this happens, asked for revised electronic bill and not the manually corrected bill.
