52 Minute Bike Ride (8.88 miles) that I call the Branch Crossing Loop.
Start from the Stonebridge Church Parking Lot on Stonebridgre Drive right off of Research Forest Drive. Go to Branch Crossing Dr. and continue the ride as Branch Crossing Dr. loops around and turns into Terramont Dr. before bringing you back to Branch Crossing Drive and then back to Stonebridge Church Parking Lot. This ride is long, but elevation is minimal and the ride is mostly shaded, so overall a very pleasant ride that can easily be done under an hour. There are also numerous parks where you can stop along the way if you want to.
Keep your speed safe (under 10 Mph.) since you are sharing the path with others who are walking, walking their dogs and even pushing strollers. Ride with safety in mind. There are lots on bends and turns with trees on both sides of the path. Always be careful when crossing busy intersections and I always like to remind everyone that just because your light says “GO”, stay alert. You may have the right of way, but if a motor vehicle is coming… yield. Better safe than right and possibly injured.
The total distance is just under 9 miles and takes about 52 minutes – my riding speed was between 8 and 9 mph.
I plan to explore more of the Bike Trails in The Woodlands and then post them along with locations. If you live in The Woodlands and have a suggestion for a moderate (20-45 minute) ride, please leave your comments. It will be interesting to explore The Woodlands Bike Trails as I get time. As of this writing, there are 220 miles of paved multi use paths.
