Best Off Grid Campsite In The West Macdonnells | Serpentine & Ormiston Gorges | Episode 23

From one incredible off grid campsite to another as we continue our adventure through the West Macdonnell Ranges.

We leave the Hugh River camp and head to Serpentine Gorge for an epic view from the top lookout. We meet a travelling family who gives us a tip for another great free camp just down the road.

Setting off in search of the Finke 2 Mile campsite, we find a great spot right on the bank of the river. It's a cracking campsite and will be home for us for a couple of nights.

The following day we tackle the Ochre Pits and the incredible colours that can be found in this area. Liz is in heaven here as she explores the array of natural ochres and dreams about the art she could create.

Back in the car and it's off to Ormiston Gorge. We tackle the Ghost Gum loop, but with a twist. After a challenging but rewarding rock scramble and getting our feet wet we are rewarded with incredible views from deep in the gorge. Returning along the western side of the gorge via the lookout before descending the stairs back to the car park.
