EU leaders are planning to legally block companies from complying with any new US sanctions on Iran that were imposed when President Donald Trump pulled out of the nuclear deal.

Washington, however, is threatening to punish any European firms that continue to do business with Tehran.

Al Jazeera's Paul Brennan reports from the EU summit in Sofia, where leaders are ready to make it illegal for companies to defy the Europeon Union.
