Former Canadian Health Minister Jane Philpott is calling for an overhaul of the Canadian health care system. Following the pandemic, Canada, much like the U.S., is facing a shortage of primary care providers and lengthy wait times for procedures. Philpott, Philpott, who is now Dean of Health Sciences at Queen’s University, is looking to post-secondary education to drive innovation in health care reform. In this Q&A, we’ll discuss ways to improve health outcomes through primary care teams, improved access to health data, and government accountability.
