Marbles roll around on a Sabian garage ride cymbal, creating a kinetic sound art sculpture. This is a contemporary sound design exploration that allows me to work with real world objects, motion, chance and experimentation.

The sonic ambience is created using a contact microphone on the bottom of the cymbal, picking up the subtle vibrations from the marbles rolling around. The ASMR aural sensation is exciting to me, as is the element of chance. Ironically the best modular synth module from Mutable Instruments is called Marbles. With improvisation like this I show my deep appreciation of sound artists like John Hurt. I love the freedom and focus of these.
