বেগম জিয়ার মুক্তির দাবিতে কর্মসূচির পাশাপাশি নির্বাচনকে টার্গেট করে ঐক্যবদ্ধ আন্দোলনের ছক আঁকছে বিএনপি। জনগণকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে নির্বাচনের পূর্ব-মুহূর্তে ক্ষমতাসীনদের কোণঠাসা করে দাবি আদায়ের পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে তাদের। তবে বর্তমান নেতৃত্ব ও সাংগঠনিক শক্তি বিবেচনায় চলমান পরিস্থিতি মোকাবিলা করা বিএনপি'র জন্য বড় চ্যালেঞ্জ বলে মনে করেন রাজনৈতিক বিশ্লেষকরা।



দুর্নীতির মামলায় বেগম খালেদা জিয়ার সাজার প্রতিবাদে কয়েকদিন ধরে লাগাতার বিক্ষোভ কর্মসূচি দিয়ে যাচ্ছে বিএনপি। রাজধানীসহ সারাদেশে বিক্ষিপ্তভাবে এসব কর্মসূচি পালন করছে দল।

দলের দায়িত্বশীল নেতারা বলছেন, বেগম জিয়ার মুক্তির আন্দোলন এখন মিশে গেছে গ্রহণযোগ্য নির্বাচনের দাবিতে চলমান আন্দোলনে।

নজরুল ইসলাম খান বলেন, 'খালেদা জিয়ার মুক্তি তো আমরা অবশ্যই চাই। তার থেকেও বেশি চাই জনগণের মুক্তি। সব থেকে বড় কথা বেগম জিয়ার প্রয়োজন আমাদের। এজন্য ওনার মুক্তি চাই আমরা।'

এই আন্দোলনের ঢেউকে কাজে লাগিয়েই নির্বাচনের আগে সরকারের ওপর চাপ সৃষ্টি করতে চায় বিএনপি।

মেজর হাফিজ বলেন, 'বিএনপির টার্গেট হল আগামীর নির্বাচন। এই নির্বাচনের আমরা আশা করি তারা কারচুপি করলেও জিততে পারবে না। জনগণের জনরোষ এতটাই বেশি হবে যে কোনোভাবে কারচুপিতে কাজ হবে না।'

শীর্ষনেতাদের মুক্তির জন্য একইসঙ্গে আইনি লড়াই ও আন্দোলন চালিয়ে যাওয়াকে বিএনপি'র জন্য চ্যালেঞ্জ হিসেবেই দেখছেন এই রাজনৈতিক বিশ্লেষক।

রাজনৈতিক বিশ্লেষক সৈয়দ আনোয়ার হোসেন বলেন, 'বিএনপির সামনে কিন্তু বড় চ্যালেঞ্জ রয়ে গেছে। একদিকে আইনি লড়াই আরেক দিকে নির্বাচন। নেতৃত্ব নেই, সংগঠন নাই। কি করবে বিএনপি? বিএনপিতে কথা বলার লোক আছে। নেতৃত্ব দেয়ার লোক নেই।'
