Extended Full Demonstration
Ingredients
2 cans red kidney beans (15 oz each),
drained and rinsed
1–2 sausage links (plant-based or regular, I used 3 small vegan links)
1 cup frozen pepper & onion blend
1 teaspoon ketchup
1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking sausage)
½ tablespoon olive oil (for sautéing veggies)
1 ¼ cups vegetable or chicken broth, divided
1 teaspoon bouillon (vegetable or chicken
style)
1/2 tsp Tony’s Creole Seasoning or seasoning salt, (to taste)
Cooked rice (instant, microwave, or made
in the Dezin pot — see note below)
Instructions
1. Cook sausage
In the Dezin pot, heat 1 tablespoon olive
oil.
Add sliced sausage links and cook until
browned. Remove and set aside.
2. Sauté veggies
Add ½ tablespoon olive oil to the pot.
Toss in frozen pepper & onion blend. Cook until softened.
3. Add beans, broth & bouillon
Stir in both cans of beans, 1 cup broth,
ketchup, and 1 teaspoon bouillon (vegetable or chicken).
Season with Tony’s Creole (or seasoning
salt).
4. Add sausage back
Stir the cooked sausage slices into the
bean mixture. Simmer covered for 10 minutes.
5. Mash beans
Mash some beans against the side of the
pot to make it creamy.
6. Pour in an additional ¼ cup broth and stir.
Cover and simmer for 5 minutes so flavors blend and sauce thickens.
7. Finish & serve
Uncover, stir well, and serve beans and
sausage over rice.

Rice in Dezin Pot: Add 1 cup rice + 1¼ cups water + ½ teaspoon oil (optional) to
the pot, cover, and cook until tender (~12–15 minutes).

Cornbread Cakes (with Jiffy Mix)
Ingredients
1 Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix
1 egg or 1 flax egg (1 tablespoon ground
flaxseed mixed with 3 tablespoons water, let sit 5 minutes until gelled)
⅓ cup milk (plant-based or regular)
1 tablespoon oil per cake for frying
Instructions
1. Make the batter (follow Jiffy directions)
In a bowl, mix Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix, egg
(or flax egg), and milk until well blended.
Batter should be pourable, like pancake batter. Add a splash more milk if too thick.
2. Heat skillet / Dezin pot
Add 1 tablespoon oil for each cake you
plan to cook. Heat until it shimmers.
3. Cook cakes (small size)
Pour batter into small rounds, no larger
than a spatula, so they’re easy to flip.
Cook for 2–3 minutes, then flip.
After the first flip, you may flip each side
more than once to prevent burning and
ensure even cooking.
4. Serve hot
