The orange-breasted trogon (Harpactes oreskios) is a colorful, medium-sized bird species in the family Trogonidae, inhabiting the lower canopy of subtropical and tropical moist lowland and montane forests in regions across southern China, Southeast Asia, Borneo, Sumatra, and Java. Males have an olive-yellow head, chestnut upperparts, and a distinctive orange-yellow breast, while females are more grey-brown with a grey breast and yellowish underparts.

The species is insectivorous, using a unique "sally-stall" foraging technique from perches to catch arthropods. They breed from January to May, nesting in cavities they excavate in dead tree stumps, with both parents sharing incubation and chick-rearing duties. The orange-breasted trogon has five recognized subspecies that differ slightly in size, coloration, and range. It is a sedentary, non-migratory bird adapted to various forest types in its range.
