"Cambridge" Stirling Engine

Описание к видео "Cambridge" Stirling Engine

This video documents the work undertaken to use an engine originally conceived and built by Allan Organ and Cambridge University in the early 1990's. I understand David Rix did a lot of the original detailed design. It was subsequently redesigned and rebuilt by the late Geoff Bartlett of the Stirling Engine Society in the U.K. This work increased the bore from 50mm to 130mm but maintained the 25mm stroke.
The video shows the challenges of making a burner (it came without one) and sorting out various leaks which also involved making a new top end (plate with hot tubes). The guys at Kepston did however furnace braze the old one, which although untested, looks like all the holes which were not even visible have been filled because there is tell-tale copper-coloured staining on the underside. The new one was brazed with a nickel-based braze so wouldn't have stained.
