Shower tile full process in under 1 minute 30 seconds!

I set a pre-formed fiberglass shower pan using mortar to level out a rough subfloor, using a wood rail to keep the bed even. The Oatey Compression Shower Drain and Delta Shower Valve made the plumbing side easy.
For waterproofing, I use cement board and sealed all the joints with fiber mesh tape and thinset before rolling on liquid membrane. Doesn’t matter if using Hardie board, Durock, or Goboard paired with RedGard or AquaDefense, same process regardless.
Spent extra time laying out the tile pattern ahead of time. Chose to go with 12 by 24 porcelain tile in the vertical format. I’m using a 1/2” notch trowel and back buttering large format tile for full coverage. Walls were mostly flat but put on thinset thicker in some areas for minor dips and I used the Spin Doctor leveling system to keep lippage in check.
Once the tile set up, I popped off the clips, cleaned out the grout joints, and finished with MAPEI Ultracolor Plus Max grout in Pure White. After buffing off grout haze the final steps were silicone in all corners, installing the trim kit for the Delta valve and shower head, and some corner shelves to wrap it up.

Just a fast-paced full process from pan to grout.
