The Paleface is a classic color comedy western film starring Bob Hope as Painless Potter - a totally inept dentist, and Jane Russell as sharpshooting undercover agent Calamity Jane and directed by Norman Z. McLeod.

It was one of the best classical comedy films ever. Calamity Jane is dispatched to find out who's smuggling rifles to the Indians, and winds up married to a hapless correspondence-school dentist, Painless Potter (Bob Hope) as part of her cover.

I find this movie hard to describe to other people, but I absolutely love it, because if comedy is about making people laugh then The Paleface is comedy at its finest. It is goofy, and just superb.

Bob Hope hams it up, Jane Russell burns the screen with her dark looks and all in all this really is one of the funnier films ever made.

After 75 plus years, this comedy is just top notch and Bob Hope is excellent. In short, a great comedy movie, which exemplifies Bob Hopes comedic talents. The supporting cast is also excellent. And the song Buttons and Bows which Bob Hope sings, also stands out.
