Our Historian, Jace McDonald spent his Saturday afternoon visiting with Irene (Miller) Brutzer. Irene is possibly the oldest living Elida graduate as of the publishing of this video (11/16/2025). Irene is the last surviving member from the Elida Class of 1943. She celebrated her 100th birthday on August 14th, 2025. She also became Elida School's first Homecoming queen, as a sophomore in 1940. Irene served as the Grand Marshal during the 1985 & 2025 Elida High School Homecoming Festivities.

We would like to extend our gratitude & appreciation to the Brutzer Family for allowing us to conduct this. For being 100 years old, Irene still has a great memory!

It is our mission to preserve Elida's History for future generations to enjoy and learn about down the road, and now these stories from Irene will forever be remembered & cherished.

I would also just like to apologize, the camera that was being used cut out on me at the close of this video unexpectedly, but there is plenty of information still. I also used some editing software on this video (for the first time) as well. I would love to hear your thoughts on the edits!
