To celebrate Mario’s 40th anniversary, Nintendo has remastered Super Mario Galaxy alongside Super Mario Galaxy 2 and released them as a bundle for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 (launched October 2, 2025). I hoped for a more fleshed out remaster or even remake worthy of celebrating Mario's 40th anniversary, but we all know what to expect from (modern) Nintendo.

In this video, I showcase all the bosses and their respective cutscenes in Super Mario Galaxy 2 in cinematic 4K — completed without taking any damage. I'm only showing each boss once, meaning I won't cover any comet fights as they are completely the same (except for Mario having lower health or being on a timer).

All gameplay was recorded on a Nintendo Switch 2 and edited by me.

Super Mario Galaxy 2 is a 2010 platform adventure developed and published by Nintendo for the Wii. First announced at E3 2009, it’s the direct sequel to 2007’s Super Mario Galaxy. Like the original, Mario embarks on an epic journey through outer space to rescue Princess Peach from Bowser, who has taken control of the universe using Power Stars and Grand Stars.

An enhanced collection of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 was released for the Nintendo Switch on October 2, 2025, featuring 1080p resolution, improved UI, and new content. The Switch 2 update adds full 4K resolution support for an even more stunning experience.

A feature film titled The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is also in production, set to release in April 2026 as part of Nintendo’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
