We travelled from [York (PLACE OF THE Yorkshire cathedral )] to Alnwick Castle, Two of the UK’s most iconic landmarks — home to scenes from Transformers and many other major films. From there, we headed north to Edinburgh, where I interviewed a woman who revealed a tragic truth: fentanyl has reached the city’s streets, and people are dying every week.
This was the only city in England or Scotland where I heard about a fentanyl crisis, and it hit hard. We explored Edinburgh Castle, walked its historic streets, and felt the strong energy of a tourist city that reminded me of Victoria, BC in the 1990s.
Next, we travelled to Stirling Castle, where I discovered gravestones bearing my last name — a moment that felt electric and deeply personal.
Our final stop was Falkirk, where I interviewed a mother who had been arrested for protesting at a migrant hotel after reports that illegal migrants had allegedly assaulted a young girl. Her courage to speak out was powerful and heartbreaking.
Overall, this journey across England and Scotland was unforgettable. The food, people, and culture were incredible — but the dark side was impossible to ignore:
