The National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA NIGERIA), Ondo has trained selected Head teachers in primary and secondary schools across the country on Leadership and Entrepreneurship Development Education.

The Director General of NIEPA, Professor Olivet Jagusah mni, declared open the capacity-building workshop with theme “Reimagine on Education Sector Response to Educational Leadership, Administration and Entrepreneurship for School Level Managers in Nigeria” in Ondo on Tuesday 11th October, 2022.

The New Media Office reports that the training aimed to equip the School Managers with adequate leadership, administrative and business skills to enable them to translate the ideas to their staff, students and pupils.
Prof. Jagusah represented by the Head, Training and Research Department of NIEPA said that, through the programme, the teachers would be able to awaken the business consciousness of the staff, students and pupils by inculcating in them the culture of entrepreneurship and financial literacy.

“The programme is to provide access to functional leadership and management skills, and also hands-on entrepreneurship/financial literacy and community service education to every primary and secondary student in Nigeria. The programme will stimulate and facilitate the culture of entrepreneurship and community service in primary and secondary schools across Nigeria, with the view to assisting staff and students in exhibiting creativity and innovation,” he said.
According to him, the NIEPA 2022 National Training Programme is to prepare and equip the School Managers towards a mind shift which will in turn engage the vibrant energy of our students and youths to channel it into productive venture creation. Jagusah added that they will be trained in the art of soap making, toilet, sanitizers and other vocational skills.
