Vasilis is a Senior Director with Mount Street Portfolio Advisers GmbH (an investment & advisory firm regulated by Bafin, the Deutsche Bundesbank, FCA and SEC), and serves as its Head of Credit & Debt Advisory for Greece & Cyprus. He also serves as Board Vice Chariman and CEO of its Regulated Servicing affiliate in Greece with €580m of onboarded loans.
Vasilis has 23 years of investment banking, M&A, corporate finance, private & distressed debt, loan servicing, C-level and Board-level industry experience across banking and advisory across shipping, real estate, food, retail, manufacturing and healthcare sectors, having advised on over €18bn of corporate and banking transactions across 12 countries primarily in South and Eastern Europe. Prior to Mount Street, Vasilis was a Partner with KKR’s Pillarstone Europe LLP heading the deal team in Pillarstone’s Greek distressed investment, turnaround and corporate NPL servicing platform. Vasilis has been involved in several Greek NPL transactions mostly both as a buy-side and sell-side originator and underwriter, as well as, as a special and primary servicer.
Vasilis has 9 years of experience as an Investment Banker with JPMorgan’s EMEA Financial Sponsors Group in London and as a Senior Manager with Deloitte’s Financial Advisory Services based in Athens and SEE. He has worked for 7 years as a the CFO of a Private Shipping Group and UHNW Family Office in Greece, and as a Director in a leading (€200m) ASE-listed and sponsor-backed international food group.
Vasilis has also served on the Boards of the UK Hellenic Bankers Association, Marine Farms ASA (an Oslo-listed seafood group) and a Greek telecoms operator. He holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Piraeus and an MBA with Distinction from London Business School with a triple concentration in Finance, Strategy and Private Equity. He was a 2005 LBS Private Equity Scholarship recipient and has also studied at Columbia Business School and in Deloitte’s Global Partner Leadership Development Programme at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.
