For me, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019 was a seminal chapter in the franchises history - it brought COD back to its routes as a casual arcade shooter with strong tactical elements and a mil-sim aesthetic.

MW 19 also brought us the wonder of Warzone, but Activision since then have slowly started back on that slippery slope towards Fortnite, with silly skins and some questionable decisions about gameplay (see Vanguard for example.)

I'm pleased to say thought that BLOPS 6 does seem to be a solid multiplayer. Nothing stood out as bad in the Beta - the graphics are a bit plain, but that's to be expected from a Treyarch COD, the gunplay and gameplay were OK, all meaning that as long as the full release delivers a good single player campaign, good zombies and some great multiplayer maps, we could be onto a winner.

In comparison with MW 2019, Blops 6 is much faster, but if you rely on your tactical know-how, that will still give you an edge, but that faster movement does mean it's easier to be aggressive too.

If you like and enjoyed playing COD MW 19, then I think if you're willing to adjust, and Call of Duty is your main game, then Black Ops 6 is worth pre-ordering, buying and playing - but if it's not, perhaps wait for the reviews of the full game, or like me, play it on Xbox & PC Game Pass.
