A tea stall vendor was killed after being run over by a Delhi Police vehicle in the city’s Gole Market area on Thursday morning, officials said. Locals allege the police personnel in the vehicle were drunk.
The victim was identified as Ganga Ram Tiwari, a physically challenged man in his 50s who had been running a tea stall under a tree near the Ram Krishna Ashram Metro Station for the past decade. Witnesses said he was asleep at his stall when the police control room (PCR) van mounted a roadside ramp and crushed him.
