Описание к видео Reality of Small Farm Life: Broken things | Fixing our Frost-Free Farm Hydrant, Truck, and Cabinet

On this episode of DogwoodFarmNH we are dealing with a bunch of things breaking, needing fixing or rebuilt all at the same time. Sometimes these things can all go wrong at the same time.

Generally seems to happen at inopportune times! Very frigid temperatures and weather made a couple of these a lot less fun, but we got through it.

Our kitchen trash cabinet was in desperate need for replacement, and we built a custom cabinet, made from self milled lumber. Hemlock, and a beautiful cherry slab for the counter top.

Campbell Frost Free Farm hydrant which has been a great unit, unfortunately froze up on us. The plug was needing to be replaced, and packing (sealant) was leaking. This is just normal wear and tear, and I wanted to get ahead of it before it became a big problem later. Normally I keep an extra parts kit on hand but I had eaten into my stash already. For those wondering about the parts kit it's Campbell HPK-1 kit. Full head rebuild on video and the proper steps for adjustment as well. Fixing farm hydrants rather than digging them up are something everyone with one should get familiarized with

Also needed to do a full rebuild on my front brakes. New calipers, pads, and rotors. I had a caliper that ceased up and blew up on me. Truck was up on jack stands for a couple days, but we got it done!

Tools used: John Deere 2038R with forks, still ms 661cm, and 462cm. Granberg alaskan sawmill. Dewalt 735 13" thickness planer. lots of Milwaukee power tools, notably drills, circular saw, orbital sander and router. Lot of hand tools, pipe wrenches, adjustable, vice grips, wrenches, sockets, etc. We always try to have the proper tools on hand for the various things that come up as a small farm/homestead.
