If there was one single car model that we can all look back to and consider to be THE most important car in contemporary car culture and car market history, that would be the first-generation Honda CRV.

During its time, sedans were the dominant cash cows of car companies, while SUVs we reserved only for those who can afford it. What started at Honda's design rooms as a mere raised Civic, blossomed into an entirely new segment, one that today has little but all eradicated the sedan market.

With its rugged styling and clever engineering, Honda was able to tap into this entirely new segment and now despite being more than 2 decades old, the CR-V soldiers on and is poised to become a future classic.
