Today, we’re excited to welcome our second non-German-speaking guest: Mehdi El Fadil.
Mehdi is the mastermind behind the surf forecast app Gonna.Surf, which currently focuses on providing highly accurate swell predictions for the Canary Islands.
In this episode, Mehdi breaks down where surf forecast data actually comes from and how to interpret it for planning the perfect surf trip. We take a deep dive into his app, talk about what sets Gonna.Surf apart from other forecasting tools, and explore how his passion project aims to make surfing not only more precise, but also more enjoyable for everyone.
While most surfers simply go with the flow, checking whatever data is available and paddling out, Mehdi is all about understanding the theory behind the numbers. And yet, he’s not just a data guy: he’s also a dedicated, passionate surfer himself.
