The New Normal may not have arrived yet, but we are making progress in stabilizing and even growing our arts organizations. Join this webinar to hear about what’s really working now for actual arts groups around the country. Using case studies drawn from a variety of successful arts organizations, Marilyn Hoyt will help participants think through fundraising planning in the context of the realities we are all facing. Key questions to be discussed include:

Where is my organization on its institutional maturation curve?
How does that influence where opportunities for fundraising exist?
What tools can I use to identify and research funders that are the right fit for my organization?

Presenter, Marilyn Hoyt, is active nationally and internationally in teaching, consulting, and advisory work. She speaks frequently at conferences and consults to two foundations. Her past work includes 12 years as a grantmaker for the Westchester Arts Council in New York and the Washington State Arts Commission, fundraising consulting with various nonprofits for J.C. Geever, Inc., and 20 years at the New York Hall of Science as founding staff raising over $200 million - first as head of advancement and ultimately as president and CEO.

Marilyn is one of the authors of the Foundation Center’s book, After the Grant. She also authored the fundraising chapter for the Handbook for Small Science Centers, and articles on outsourcing for the Association of Science-Technology Centers and exhibition funding for the Exhibitionist, an AAM newsletter. Her e-newsletter is circulated to a dedicated list and reproduced periodically on New York's Oram Matters, Penn Consulting and DHR's nonprofit recruiting practice newsletter. Marilyn chairs the Board of New Knowledge, a social evaluation nonprofit, and is an advisory board member of Columbia University's Masters in Fund Raising program and Chicago's National Public Housing Museum. She is deeply interested in nonprofits led by and serving minority communities. Her recognitions include a Latin American Women's Council Fanny Calderon de la Barca Award.
