Quantum Mechanics - Relativistic Quantum Mechanics : Why Relativistic Quantum Mechanics?

Описание к видео Quantum Mechanics - Relativistic Quantum Mechanics : Why Relativistic Quantum Mechanics?

The Schrodinger’s equation which forms the basis of the mechanics, does not satisfy the requirements of the special theory of relativity, namely invariance under Lorentz transformation. This equation does not incorporate the spin of the concerned particle and hence does not conform to special relativity. To solve this problem two famous equations-Klein-Gordon equation and Dirac equation have been devised. However, new conceptual difficulties arise which must be overcome by expanding the theory in terms of Second Quantization.
