Celebrating the multiple motorsport events coming to Qatar in 2023, Qatar Airways will host a special event at Lusail Boulevard on February 22 at 5 pm.

Motorsports enthusiasts will be treated to a special race down the strip, featuring Qatar’s five-time Dakar Rally champion Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah in his rally car, David Coulthard in a Red Bull Formula 1 car, Dani Pedrosa in a MotoGP bike and Abdo Feghali in a Red Bull drift car.

The event will be open to the public free of charge, and will also include a live music performance by a world-renowned artist, other forms of entertainment and a fireworks display. Attendees can either park in the many car parks around Lusail Boulevard or take the metro.

“Following the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and now a growing motorsports presence, Qatar is quickly becoming a hub for global sporting events. Qatar Airways will continue to display the synergy between travel and sports, giving fans the ultimate travel experience to their favourite events, especially in Qatar,” said Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker.

“We look forward to hosting a special evening of motorsport at the world-class Lusail Boulevard, where fans can get close to the action and feel the thrills and excitement of different automobiles,” he added

In 2023, Qatar will host the F1 (October 6 to 8) and MotoGP races (November 17 to 19) at the Lusail International Circuit. They will also organise the Geneva International Motor Show in October and the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2024.
