The plan and section of an ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) is shown in Fig, 2(a) and 2(b) respectively. The ETP consists of 4 (four) Chambers (A), (B), (C) and (D). Initial entry of effluent is through (A) which is filled by pumping from outside sources. From chamber (A) the effluent enters chamber (B) by an opening
4 ft x 1 ft in the partition wall at the top. From chamber (B) the effluent is again pumped to chamber (C). From chamber (C) the effluent enters the chamber (D) by an opening 4 ft x 1 ft in the partition wall at the top. Chemical of neutralizing the effluent are added in each chamber as required. Finally the neutralized effluent water is discharged by pumping in exit drains.
The bearing capacity of soil at foundation level 2000 psf. Consider an upward buoyant pressure for at least 8 ft of water below the foundation against floating in extreme case.
Design all the walls and foundation for the ETP.
Concrete strength = 3000 psi
Steel-60 grade.
