This video highlights a custom solution provided by Tech-Con for robotically automated load and unload of quality critical precision heat induction. The system utilizes two FANUC M-710iC robots, equipped with FANUC iRVision, to load and unload the parts. The highly reliable FANUC M-710iC robot is one of FANUC’s most versatile robots. It comes in a variety of models for different payloads, reach and mounting configurations. The robot’s innovative four-head gripper was designed and built by Tech-Con in order to meet the customer’s cycle time. FANUC’s iRVision system ensures that the part is picked in the correct radial orientation. FANUC iRVision also confirms the heat treatment was successful and within acceptable parameters in the event that the heating elements fail or wear.

Next, the heat-treated part is marked with a stamp, and then placed on a discharge conveyor. Part flippers are used throughout the conveyor system to ensure the part is conveyed as to protect the dimensionally critical surface. Tec-Con implemented a reliable merge and traffic control zone along with part elevators to allow operator “walk under” zones.
