We started out by taking a look at what all comes in the package. Inside each were a 3.5mm adapter and 2 AAA batteries. We then took a look at all of the differences between the Sordin Supreme Pro-X to the Pro-X LED model.

The first thing we noticed was that the Pro-x LED models come with gel cups on the headset. This is awesome because it adds a lot more comfort to the headset and works a lot better when you go shooting and have to use eye protection. They both have the same 3.5mm jack and side headset controls. The only other difference noticed was the difference in the headbands. The Supreme Pro-X has a leather strap where our Pro-X LED model included a padded strap cover. The padded strap cover is removable and can be upgraded to different designs.

Both headsets use two front-facing microphones in order to achieve multidirectional sound amplification. These are absolutely amazing as the sound is so crystal clear and well balanced that you don't even notice you have on hearing protection at all. A dog barking behind you or footsteps off to your right is incredibly easy to hear and pinpoint their location.

They also both offer 6 levels of sound amplification that can be changed with the side controls on the headset. This allows you to hear even the faintest sound near you and know exactly where it's coming from. In a bump in the night scenario, these are amazing to be able to pick up exactly what is going on. Anyone without these would be at a huge tactical disadvantage.

The last difference comes with the LED on the Sordin Supreme Pro-X LED model. You can just press the minus and plus buttons together and it then turns on the LED with a small chime. This is nice because you have a very soft light. You could very easily and discreetly use this light if you were in a survival and escape scenario or if you equally just need to read a sign in a dark corridor.

Next, we tested out the sound quality and found the quality of both headsets to be equally superb. Whichever version you get, you'll get some ridiculous sound quality. Then, we tested out the sound amplification and found those higher tiers of amplification to be insanely useful for hearing things the normal ear just can't pick up.

Finally, we took a look at some radio and comms setups you can do thanks to our friends at Comm Gear supply. We wanted to use a simple Baofeng to show how easy it is to connect your headset into even the most basic radio out there.

The mic kit runs from a 2 prong adapter into the Baofeng out to a QD. The QD allows us to use the same comms setup as along as any radio we change out to has the appropriate QD connector. The mic kit from the QD then includes a microphone that I routed over my shoulder along with a 2 pin connector. I then took the 2 pin and connected it into a 3.5mm adapter.

Now, I had a radio setup that can have amazing multidirectional sound amplification, hearing protection, and full radio comms. This is an absolutely killer setup!
