The two semi-finals were held early in the Monday evening session, with the top three in each plus the next two fastest athletes progressing to the final later in the session. This was a really close race, with the top three separated by just five-hundredths of a second.

Meghan Pilley of the Isle of man was the winner, with her teammate Carla Teece in third, and they were split by Shetland’s Katie Dinwoodie. The time run by Oddvør Josephsen of the Faroe Islands was also good enough to get her through.

The young lady wielding the television camera while the athletes were being introduced is Jessica Troy from Jersey, who performed her day job throughout the week and then ran very well in the Half Marathon on the final day.
