Meghalaya Police on Wednesday crushed 181 modified silencers which were seized by the Shilllong Traffic Police since August, 2023. The modified silencers were crushed at the Police Reserve in Shillong. Police also informed that an amount to the tune of Rs 12 lakh was also collected in the penalties. East Khasi Hills District SP Sylvester Nongtnger said that they had actually detected nearly 300 modified silencers but let the violators go asking them to fix the silencers.
