Regenerative Braking in Hybrid and Electric Vehicles Explained

Today we will be explaining how regenerative braking works in hybrid and electric (BEV) cars and trucks. The system we are discussing is the Toyota Synergy Drive Hybrid system, but the concepts apply to many other vehicles. The car I am using is a 2013 Lexus CT200h but is mechanically and electronically similar to the 2010-2015 Toyota Prius. The trainers used are Consulab Hybrid trainer (Gen 3 Prius drivetrain and electricals) and Ohm's Law trainer.
