J. J. Cale "Ride Me High" live at the Triple Door, April 7, 2009, Seattle

On April 7, 2009, the late, great J. J. Cale performed an historic concert at Triple Door in Seattle, WA (Mislabeled on the crawl as April 8, but I no longer have video editing software to fix it. Apologies!). He was joined for the entire performance by Mike Campbell from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. It was one of Cale's last appearances on stage. I had a front row seat, elbows on the stage, and catching Cale's eye I pointed to the small Sony U50 camera I had and shrugged my shoulders, signalling "Ok to record?" He nodded a solid ok. There were lines going around the block for people just hoping to score one of the long sold out tickets. I talked to people who'd flown in for the show from distant places like Greenland and New Zealand. So if you're one of those who didn't make it in, here's a sample. It's the opener, and the only song I videoed. Just a one camera historical record of an event that can never be repeated... All content should be regarded as the intellectual property of J. J.
