Running totals, also called cumulative totals, can easily be done in Microsoft Excel. There are multiple ways to do running totals. I cover three methods in this short video. My favorite method is shown and that is using PivotTables. I also do with a simple formula and show using the Sum function with absolute reference. One example of a running total is monthly sales or numbers. In January we did 100. In February we did 200. The running total is 300 (100 + 200). March is 50. Now the running total is 350.
