1965 BMW R60/2 - Why don’t BMW recreate this bike as a Modern Retro?

Описание к видео 1965 BMW R60/2 - Why don’t BMW recreate this bike as a Modern Retro?

Another opportunity to ride this wonderful 1965 BMW R60/2 came up at Haywards of Cambridge. A bike that was owned by Tim and was recommissioned by Haywards. Tim had recently bought it at Bonhams from a private museum/collection, The Anthony R. East Classic Motorcycle Collection. In the last video I thought given its age she went very well but Tim wanted it smoother and so it went back to Haywards for some additional tweaks. After this ride, I loved it so much I had to wonder why BMW don’t recreate this bike as a modern retro?

This BMW R60/2 was supplied to Slocombe's of Neasden and first registered on 30th December 1964. The machine was registered to its first owner, a Mr Dallen of Wood Green, North London on 8th January 1965. It was then bought by a Mr Minifie of Wednesbury, Staffordshire in 1968; registered by a dealer in 1970; and then sold to a Mr Davies of Brierley Hill in July 1971. Next owner Mr Billingham of Stourbridge purchased the BMW in May 1975. Tony East purchased the machine in 1994, the V5C recording the previous keeper as a Mr Toothill of Ruislip, who had acquired it in November 1989 (the old-style V5 records six former keepers prior to Mr Toothill.
