According to Section 12 of the Insurance Act, of 1938, insurers' financial statements must be audited annually by an auditor. As prescribed by IRDA, 1999, every insurer for his insurance business and shareholder's funds should prepare:
· A Balance Sheet
· A Profit & Loss Account
· Separate Account of Receipts
· Payments and a Revenue Account
All this must be done as per IRDA regulations at the end of each financial year.
