The Warhammer 40k universe paints one of the darkest futures for humanity out of all the Sci-Fi franchises out there. Mankind has long since spread its wings into the stars from Terra(Earth), colonizing many different worlds. These worlds had operated independently for millennia, with some even forgetting that they belonged to a much larger species with their origins tied to Earth. This would all change when the Emperor of Mankind, after uniting Terra under his Banner, embarked on his great crusade into the galaxy to assimilate the fragmented human species into his Empire known as the Imperium of Man.
