Singer steam press fix/repair

Fixing a Signer steam press that no longer turns on.

This steam press is the "non electronic" type that uses a simple mechanical thermostat (which uses a bitmetallic strip to automatically maintain temperature setting).

The steam press also has a thermal fuse inside, if the temperature exceeds around 500 or so degrees (F) the fuse will blow and never recover. You'll be left with a useless hunk of metal.

I've already replaced the fuse in this press once before, so I'm checking to see if the fuse is the problem again.

While I'm in here I decided to also replace the mechanical adjustable thermostat since the old one was extremely corroded and most likely also malfunctioning.

It appears that replacing the thermostat is allowing this Singer steam press to operate again, so I won't be forced to buy a new one.
