Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed sorrow for the victims and sympathy to their families, the injured and the people in the affected area in Indonesia. Xi phoned his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo on Sunday and said China stands ready to provide assistance according to the needs of the Indonesian side. The Red Cross Society of China offered 200,000 US dollars in emergency aid to its Indonesian counterpart.
